On Sunday September 21, 2025, the ring at Groomania 2025 was buzzing with a very special energy: the Ring of Legends hosted theOld Goldies Invitational, a unique event dedicated to the figures who have marked the history of world grooming. Among them, one name resonated with emotion: Jean Vion.
Invited not to compete, but to be honored, Jean made his entrance with elegance and passion, accompanied by a magnificent large white Poodle. A powerful symbol, reminiscent of his early days as a breeder and handler of Poodles at dog shows.
A career forged by passion and excellence!
Jean Vion began his career as a groomer in 1986. He soon distinguished himself not only by his talent, but also by his willingness to pass on his knowledge. After 10 years in charge of training at the CFA in Arras, he and his teams trained over a thousand groomers. He was also a training center director for 7 years, before developing his own grooming salon franchise in northern France.
Today, he continues to run his“Tendance Chiens et Chats” salon alongside his wife, training the future talents of the profession. His passion doesn’t stop at the salon: Jean is also a Diamex Team France coach, supporting and inspiring the new generation of groomers.
Groomania 2025: a vibrant tribute!
The invitation he received says it all:
“With a career built on passion, excellence and commitment, you’ve helped shape the grooming world into what it is today. Now it’s your time to return, not as a competitor chasing trophies, but as a legend, celebrated, honored, and invited to shine once more.”

And that’s exactly what happened. On Sunday morning, Jean stepped into the ring, not to prove anything, but to celebrate all that he has contributed to the world of grooming. Alongside other pioneers and lifelong friends, he experienced the moment as a reunion of passion, laughter and shared memories.
The atmosphere was both festive and moving. Jean showed once again that true legends are not measured by trophies, but by the mark left on a profession and a community.
Well-deserved recognition!
With this invitation, Jean was not only honored: he reminded everyone of the importance of transmission, sharing and passion in a constantly evolving profession. His journey, from his first scissors to his years of training and coaching, is an inspiring example for all those who dream of making grooming a way of life.
